The Costa Rica canopy tours here in Santa Teresa are absolutely amazing and something that you don’t want to miss. Canopy tours are a fantastic way to get a closer and more personal look at life in the treetops of Costa Rica and they are fun for adults and children of all ages. Canopy tours offer our guests an unbelievable experience that combines nature and adrenaline into one unforgettable journey. At the Blue Surf Sanctuary Hotel, we offer three different canopy tours options to our guests: Canopy Mal Pais, Canopy Montezuma and a specialized Nature-Canopy Tour.

Costa Rica Canopy Tours in Mal Pais

Canopy Mal Pais is located in the quiet fishing village of Mal Pais, which is only about a 20-minute drive from our hotel. Canopy Mal Pais is special because it is located close to the entrance of the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve. There are over 200 different tree species on this canopy tour as well as much wildlife and many birds that live in the area surrounding Canopy Mal Pais. Canopy Mal Pais consists of 11 platforms that range from 5 to 30 meters in height. Two of their most talked about ‘rides’ are their 300-meter long ride over a canyon between the second and third platform as well as their 500-meter long ride along a creek. The Canopy Mal Pais Tour costs $45 per person.

Costa Rica Canopy Tours in Montezuma

Canopy Montezuma is located just outside of the town of Montezuma on the other side of the Nicoya Peninsula and it is about a 45-minute drive from our hotel. Canopy Montezuma is unique because it is your chance to explore the mountains surrounding Montezuma as well as the majestic Montezuma waterfalls. This canopy tour consists of 13 platforms, a suspension bridge that is 30 meters high and it ends at the famous Montezuma waterfalls where you can go for a swim. The Canopy Montezuma Tour costs $40 per person. If you do not have a car to get to Montezuma yourself, we can arrange transportation for you from Santa Teresa. The cost of the Canopy Montezuma Tour with transportation is $60 per person.

If you would like an even more unique canopy experience, we suggest that you reserve a spot on the specialized Nature-Canopy Tour. This canopy tour is an unforgettable way to combine either of the above canopy tours with a nature tour. A certified Costa Rican nature guide would accompany you on this tour and teach you all about Costa Rica’s history, its diverse wildlife as well as point out to you interesting plants and animals that otherwise, you might miss. Transportation is included in this tour for $125 per person. Discounts are given for if transportation is not needed and for groups of three or more people.

On all of these tours you may see howler monkeys, white-faced Capuchin monkeys, parrots, iguanas and so much more.
